Heba Tawfik, MD, DrPH
Associate Professor of Epidemiology
CLEAR Lab Founder & Primary Investigator
Dr. Heba Tawfik is a physician, epidemiologist, and public health researcher with more than 25 years of experience. She earned her doctoral degree from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in New York and brings an interdisciplinary perspective that integrates clinical medicine with epidemiologic research.
Her areas of expertise include infectious diseases, cancer epidemiology, maternal and child health and the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare and public health. She has extensive experience conducting quantitative and mixed-methods research and has contributed to national and international public health initiatives.
Dr. Tawfik has authored numerous publications and presented her work at professional meetings worldwide. She is a recipient of the Anna C. Gelman Award of Excellence in Epidemiology and multiple Research Dissemination Grants.
Through CLEAR Health Impact, Dr. Tawfik leads research and community-focused initiatives that address important public health challenges, strengthen health education, and support underserved and diverse populations. She is committed to translating research findings into practical strategies, community programs, and collaborative partnerships that promote meaningful and lasting health impact.
